The Past matters to us
“praeterita nobis”
“Ever since listening to stories my great-grandmother told me at bedtime about her country upbringing , I haven’t been able to get enough of the past. As if that wasn’t enough, I largely grew up trailing along after my grandpa who also loved to tell me stories of his youth, a hard youth spent working first at the railroad and then at the Jacksonville Shipyards. By the time I was 5 or 6 years old, I wanted to go back and live along side of them! As I grew up, I realized nobody was inventing any time machines soon, so I contented myself with intense study of all things yesterday, particularly the 3F stuff – Family, Fixing Things and Firearms. For almost 40 years now I have been researching history and genealogy as well as fixing, collecting and selling all manner of antiques and firearms. Lisa and I have been married for 31 years. She likes the more artistic and crafty side of antiquing, things that she is very good at herself. Together we make a good team! History really does matter to us and it’s why we chose the latin phrase “Praeterita Nobis” for our motto!”
